Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant 6 Month Temp Assignment

A fast-paced political direct mail agency is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting general office functions. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and vendor payments using QuickBooks Desktop
- Record payments and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with budgeting, tracking expenses, and basic reconciliation
- Support contract preparation and pricing administration
- Answer phones and assist with front-office responsibilities
- Oversee mail operations (tracking, inventory, shipping/receiving)
- Prepare mailings, packages (UPS/USPS), and internal materials
- Order office supplies and maintain kitchen/common areas
- Provide general administrative support as needed
- May assist in occasional kitchen cleanup
Qualifications
- Experience in bookkeeping or accounting support required
- Strong QuickBooks Desktop experience (required)
- Proficiency in Excel and data entry
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable handling repetitive, process-driven work
- Reliable team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude
Pay Rate Range
$25 - $27 Hourly
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM (35 hours/week)
- 100% on-site (Cromwell, CT)
- Paid on-site lunch
Additional Requirements:
- Vacation blackout: August 1 - November 3 (Election Day)
- Occasional Saturdays needed (September-October)
- June/July vacation allowed
